Analysis of the performed Trio Sonatas of J. S. Bach
Join mathematician and musician Daniel for a fascinating talk exploring the connections between mathematics, music, and the human mind through the organ works of J.S. Bach. Following the presentation on the Benjamin Franklin Stage in Hall E, continue the experience with a live organ recital at the Cathedral Basilica beginning at 5:30 p.m., featuring Bach’s timeless compositions performed in one of Philadelphia’s most beautiful settings.

The American Philosophical Society’s Contours of American Mathematics Exhibit
Curated by Karen Parshall, this exhibit showcases historical materials drawn from the Society’s extensive archives. Following the completion of object selection in fall 2025, Parshall developed the exhibit’s introductory text, section narratives, and object labels during spring 2026.
The exhibit will be displayed online as well as in four vitrines located in the lobby of Library Hall and will be open July 20, 2026 - September 18, 2026 for attendees of the International Congress of Mathematicians as well as the public to view.
