Press Registration Eligibility Guidelines

The ICM provides complimentary press registration to professional journalists to gather news and information to produce media coverage of ICM 2026. Freelance writers and institutional communicators may also apply for press registration. 

  • Professional journalists from traditional media outlets must present a valid press ID from an active media organization. 
  • Freelance writers can also receive a press pass if they have a letter from an active media organization confirming the coverage of the ICM for a specific publication. 
  • Institutional communicators who do not possess a press ID are required to submit their university ID, a recommendation letter from their institution's leadership, and pay a registration fee of $250. 

Registration requests will be evaluated and decisions communicated within two weeks of submission. If you are unsure if you qualify to cover the ICM, please check our eligibility guidelines or email us at icmpressinquiries@simonsfoundation.org.

Visa Information

ICM Press Conference

Date/Time: Thursday, July 23
Location: TBA

The ICM Press Conference is open only to those who have registered as press for the ICM 2026. Registration must be completed in advance no later than June 1, 2026. No exceptions for admittance will be made.

Code of Conduct

All accredited media must wear their press badge during the entirety of the congress. The badge must be visible and can be checked at any time by ICM personnel.

Press representatives must not distract or interfere with speakers in preparation of their talk and must not obstruct the sight of any official camera during said talk. Press representatives must immediately obey any instruction given by ICM personnel.  Any violation of this code of conduct may result in the withdrawal of their press registration.
